Bharati Airtel has introduced a new offer for its home broadband customers, called Airtel Surprises. In the new offer, the telecom operator is offering free additional data and content benefits included in their current plans in order to celebrate the crossing of a landmark, which is 2 million subscribers. Bharti Airtel (India) CEO – Homes, Hemanth Kumar Guruswamy, in a statement said, “We are happy to cross this milestone of 2 million customers… therefore, we are delighted to bring the latest ‘Airtel Surprises’ for them. With these additional benefits, our customers will be able to do much more with their existing plans.”
According to current data from TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India), Airtel had crossed the milestone of 2 million fixed-line broadband subscribers in November 2016 itself. In the new offer, existing Airtel home broadband customers will get free additional monthly data top up with their existing broadband plans without any extra costs. Users will also be able to enjoy free access to Airtel movies, that includes a collection of more than 10 thousand movies and TV shows in all languages, according to the company statement.
In order to get the offers under ‘Airtel Surprises’, users will have to log on to broadband surprises section on the Airtel website and unlock the ‘surprise’.
By the end of November last year, other network had the following subscriber base: BSNL, with 9.95 million subscribers, Bharti Airtel, with 2.03 million, Atria Convergence Technologies, with 1.14 million, MTNL, with 1.05 million and YOU Broadband with 0.60 million. In the overall broadband segment, Reliance Jio beats Bharti Airtel, with 52.23 million and 43.93 million subscriber base respectively.
